Hi, I’m Calum, and this is the story of Small World Movers, the company my dad, Asanga, started over 25 years ago right here in Denver.
It all began with a beautiful antique sink he found at a yard sale. It was exactly what he’d been looking for — priced at just a few dollars. But when he asked how much it would cost to move it, the answer shocked him: over $100, several times the price of the sink itself.
He walked away that day, disappointed that something so simple could be so expensive to move. But instead of letting it go, he saw an opportunity — a chance to help people in our community by offering moving services that were fair, caring, and reliable.
Coming from a family that had always owned trucks and helped neighbors move, my dad knew he could make a difference. And that’s how Small World Movers was born — built on the belief that moving shouldn’t be stressful or overpriced, and that every move should come with a big heart and a big smile.
Over the years, we’ve grown from helping local families move across town to also serving large commercial projects. But even as we’ve expanded, our values have never changed.
