Family-owned Denver-area movers since 1999
Highlands Ranch is a master-planned community in Douglas County, with neighborhood recreation centers, trails and open space, and homes built from the early 1980s on. For more than 25 years, Small World Movers, a family-owned, second-generation Denver moving company, has helped Colorado households and businesses move, and we’re ready to plan your Highlands Ranch move around your HOA’s rules.

Moving in Highlands Ranch: what to know
Highlands Ranch isn’t a city. It’s an unincorporated community governed by Douglas County, with services from the Highlands Ranch Metro District and covenants overseen by the Highlands Ranch Community Association (HRCA). The first homes went up in 1981 near South Broadway, and today the community is organized into four areas, Northridge, Eastridge, Southridge and Westridge, each with its own recreation center.
Those layers matter on moving day. Many homes belong to both the HRCA and a smaller sub-association, and either one can have rules about parking, trucks or move times. Check both before you book, and tell us about anything we should plan around. Moving into a gated neighborhood like BackCountry, or a senior community like Wind Crest? Arrange gate access and any move-in requirements ahead of time.
C-470 cuts across the northern part of Highlands Ranch, and Santa Fe Drive runs along its western edge. Inside the community, Broadway, University Boulevard, Lucent Boulevard, Quebec Street, Highlands Ranch Parkway and Wildcat Reserve Parkway are the main roads. If your street is narrow or ends in a cul-de-sac, let us know where a large truck can park.

Highlands Ranch moving FAQ
Is Highlands Ranch in your service area?
Yes. Highlands Ranch is about 14 miles south of downtown Denver, well within the area we serve: the Denver metro, communities within about 60 miles of Denver, and Colorado Springs.
Should I check HOA rules before moving day?
Yes. Rules can come from the HRCA and from your sub-association, and they may cover where a truck can park or when moves can happen. Share anything relevant with us and we’ll plan around it.
Can you help us downsize to a townhome or senior community?
Yes. We can pack for you, move what’s going with you, and place furniture where you want it in your new home. Senior communities often have their own move-in procedures, so ask for them early and pass them along to us.
Can you move a piano into a basement?
Yes. We move pianos and other heavy items up to 3,000 pounds, including up and down stairs, with the right equipment for the job.
