Moving in Centennial: what to know

Centennial became a city in 2001, when voters in established neighborhoods of unincorporated Arapahoe County chose to incorporate. Today it’s home to about 109,000 people, and I-25 splits it roughly in half. West of the interstate are mature neighborhoods like Southglenn, Cherry Knolls and Walnut Hills, where many homes date to the 1960s and ’70s. East of I-25, the city stretches out toward Cherry Creek State Park and Centennial Airport.

Those west-side homes are often ranches, bi-levels and tri-levels, which means several short flights of stairs and often a basement to empty. Tell us about your layout when you ask for a quote, and we’ll plan the crew and equipment around it. Centennial is also a city of HOAs and civic associations, so check whether yours has rules about where a moving truck can park or when moves can happen.

Arapahoe Road is Centennial’s main east-west commercial corridor, and C-470 and E-470 meet I-25 near the city’s southern edge, so Highlands Ranch, Parker and Lone Tree are all close by. If you’re moving into an apartment or townhome near The Streets at SouthGlenn or along Parker Road, check your building’s move-in rules and reserve any elevator or loading area as soon as you know your date.
